Pinterest has become somewhat of a big boy in the social media world over the past year, with it’s surge of traffic and big funding rounds. However it has never had an amazing mobile experience to boost it’s growth even more and lots of people have been wanting it. Well the wait is now over as Pinterest is finally getting serious with it’s mobiel apps.
During Pinterest first summer party all the way in San Francisco, Pinterest announced an upgrade to it’s iOS app as well as it’s first android specific app. This app is now available in apple’s app store and Google play for the android phones, along with this you can also use the handy links that Pinterest is providing on its website. Along with the mobile apps anyone that owns a kindle Fire can also get their hands on the Pinterest app as of later this week, it can be found within the Amazon Appstore.
Personally I haven’t tried the new Android app yet but of what I know the iPhone and iPad apps are 100 times better than they were before. The fact that Pinterest has separate apps for both the iPad and iPhone is a huge step, especially for a site that provides a wide range of stunning visual content. The layout is also much more enjoyable than it was before and there is also a lot more options for sharing, along with much more brand new content. The app also feels much faster than it was before, which is always a bonus.
With this new upgrade and first release on android phones, Pinterest is really opening doors and I feel it should see another huge boost in it’s growth along with even more activity on the website.
